“Why can't we see any animals?(为什么都看不见有动物?)”

“Plants are dead, how can there be animals coming!(植物都死光光了,怎么可能还有动物过来!)”

If we don't find food and water today, we'll all starve here tomorrow!(打起精神来,如果今天还找不到食物淡水,我们明天就会全部饿死在这里了!)”

“There is nothing here but cracked earth!Where can I find food?(这里除了龟裂的泥土,什么都没有!

“This should be a large lake similar to lop nur, dried up because of the broken flow, the lake bed dried up, the plants died, the animals did not dare to come!(这里应该是一处类似于罗布泊一样的大型湖泊,因为断流而干枯,湖床干裂,植物都死光了,动物自然也不敢来了!)”

“Hey, what are you crying for?(喂,你又鬼哭什么?)”

“I have no ghost to cry, I just want to eat dumplings!(我没鬼哭,我只是想起吃饺子了!)”高晓飞有气无力地苦着脸叹息道,“I used to like dumplings best!(我以前最喜欢吃的就是饺子了!)”他侧头看了看布莱特,“What am I talking to you about?

“Who says I haven't eaten?(谁说我没吃过了?)”

“How does it taste?(好吃吗?)”

“Good is good, very good! It's just too much skinning!(好是好吃,非常好吃!

Who told you to peel dumplings?(傻瓜!

“What do you say?(那你说,该怎么吃?)”

“Should be to eat skin vomit a pit just to good.(应该是吃皮吐核才对好不好)。”

“Damn it.(我靠。)”布莱特甩着手骂道,“How come no one told me right then?Harm I even dumplings excrement all eat down! There's nothing left over!(怎么当时就没人跟我说……

问天看着他们的情景笑道:“You will think what you want, you will hear what you believe, it is not the outside world that scares us, but our hearts.(你要什么就会想到什么,信什么就会听到什么,让我们恐惧的,不是外面的世界,而是我们的内心。)”

“Ouch! Dead laughing! I can't walk! I can't walk!(哎哟!

We laugh at you to eat dumpling excrement all.(我们……

“Don't I know how to eat? The next time... I'll get it next time.(我不是不懂吃吗?

Get up.(不能再睡了,快起来。)”

“Uncle! I can't walk, really can't walk!(叔叔!

“You have to walk if you can't.(走不动也得走。)”问天指着前面不远处,“See?There was a high ground ahead, and wherever we went, we opened cans and ate beef.(看到了吗?

“Open cans and eat beef.(开罐头,吃牛肉。)”

“Go to high ground and eat beef. Eat beef.(走到高地上吃牛肉,吃牛肉。)”

“Uncle! Is it here?(叔叔!

“If I said, there's a fish down there, and it's a big fish, would you believe it?(如果我说,下面有一条鱼,而且还是一条大活鱼,你们信不信?)”

“Uncle! This is the plot of the Arabian nights.(叔叔!

高晓飞伸手去抓,惊呼道:“It's a fish, really a fish, an extended version of the tangerine.(是鱼,真的是鱼,加长版的塘角鱼。)”

“Amazing! Uncle! Your magic, can you do it again?(太神奇了!

“Okay, here's another one.(好,给你再变一次。)”

Come on, roast the fish.(现在肚子又不饿了吗?

布莱特摸了摸肚子,伸出舌头舔了舔嘴唇,似乎还在回味无穷,又伸手抹了抹嘴巴,感叹道:“At last we've had enough, and we're back again!(终于吃饱了,我们又一次起死回生了!)”

高晓飞说道:“Not enough to eat, you have only one worry; If you eat enough, you will have countless troubles.(没吃饱,你就只有一个烦恼;吃饱了,就会有无数个烦恼了。)”

高晓飞笑道:“A person's inner world should be rich, if there is no trouble, no melancholy, no pain, is absolutely a fool.(人的内心世界应该是丰富的,一个人如果没有烦恼、没有忧郁、没有痛苦,绝对是一个傻瓜。)”

“You're the fool.(你才是傻瓜。)”

高晓飞也抹了抹嘴巴,感叹道:“In this world, there is no such thing as a barrier that can't be crossed, only a barrier that can't be crossed.(这世上本来就没有过不去的坎,只有过不完的坎。)”

布莱特跟着高晓飞学习了几天的中文,已经能听懂一些日常用语,也能够说几句简单的话了,似乎是听明白了凯丽这句话的意思,也侧头问道:“This is too wonderful, so dry and cracked land can also have live fish?Good magic!

高晓飞笑道:“This Africa, after all, is an amazing place.(这非洲嘛,本来就是一个无比神奇的地方。)”

“But this is also too unnatural!(可这也太不符合常理了吧!)”

“Right! Is not too scientific, really not scientific!(对!

问天笑道:“This kind of fish is called lungfish, I have seen its information, but I did not expect to meet here, more did not want to rely on them to change our lives!(这种鱼叫肺鱼,我曾经看过它的资料,可我也没想到会在这里遇上,更没想过要靠它们来换我们的命!)”

高晓飞笑道:“Lungfish, if it weren't for them, we'd be a wreck!(肺鱼,要不是它们,我们差点就变成废人了!)”

问天慢慢地解释道:“Lungfish get their name from their bladders. The bladders of lungfish are much like the lungs and can be used for gas exchange. For most fish, the bladders help the fish rise or sink to enhance balance, while breathing is done through the gills. What makes lungfish special is that they can breathe not only through their gills but also through their bladders. This allows the lungfish to survive for a long time without water. When a river dries up completely, it burrows in bed mud and lies dormant for half a year or more during the dry season, completely out of water and even alive in the air. This strange fish in hibernation, they will be on dry ground, with secretions cocoon wrap the body, and then sleep, until the rainy season when the river flooded out again, this kind of don't eat not to drink to sleep can continue for months, even years, is known as a "living fossil" in organi** and biosphere, their higher than dinosaurs degress, has four hundred million years of history, distribution in Africa, Australia, South America of fresh water.(肺鱼之所以得名,主要在于它们的鳔。

高晓飞笑道:“This is definitely the sleep champion of the animal kingdom!(这绝对称得上是动物界的睡眠冠军了!)”

布莱特不可思议地感叹道:“This African lungfish can sleep for years without eating or drinking in the dry mud.(不吃不喝,在干泥地里就能睡几年,这非洲的肺鱼也太神奇了吧!)”

凯丽恍然大悟:“Come to think of, I also once saw the data of lungfish, but just can't remember in a moment!Originally a Marine fish, lungfish rely on their thin limbs to move out of the same square as their hands and feet, or to move from hand to foot like a dog. They have two sets of respiratory systems: gills in the water, lungs on shore, and a simple primitive lung (bladder) through which air can be exchanged.(我想起来了,我也曾经看到过肺鱼的资料,可就是一时之间想不起来了!

问天笑道:“Lungfish can generally how long a metre long, and lungs with the human body as long as the same, under drought conditions, it will be in mud drilling a hole 20 centimeters, the body into a ball, made cocoon shell, secretion and the soil to protect their delicate body, reduce moisture loss, then leave a **all air vents, breathe through maw, began a long sleep, earn by the original fat, sleeping until the next rainy season.(肺鱼一般都能长一米多长,而肺跟身体就差不多一样长。

凯丽接着又说:“In ancient times, the lungfish was once a resident of the ocean. By the middle and late devonian, it began to march toward the land, into the freshwater environment and eventually became a freshwater fish. The earliest representative of lungfish is the two-finned fish of the middle devonian, which once flourished and multiplied in large Numbers from the late devonian to the carboniferous. At present, only a few specialized representatives are left in the equatorial regions of Africa, Oceania and South America, which can be said to be a kind of living fossil!(远古时期,肺鱼曾经是海洋中的居民,到了泥盆纪中后期,它开始向陆地进军,进入到淡水环境中,并最终成为淡水鱼。

问天又笑道:“It is said that in some remote villages in some parts of Africa, people often dig mud to make mud bricks. Unfortunately, lungfish often hide in the mud and get plastered on the wall. When the rain comes and the mud bricks get wet, lungfish can escape.(据说,在非洲一些地方的偏远山村,人们常常挖泥制成泥砖,常有不幸的肺鱼躲在泥地里被糊上墙。

“Africa, is really a place full of wonderful!(非洲,真是一个处处充满着奇葩的地方!)”

问天笑道:“Since the god so care for us, today will not leave, we go to dig fish, stock food, tomorrow to start.(既然上天这么眷顾我们,今天就不走了,大家一起去挖鱼,储备粮食,明天再出发。)”

That's a new word!(挖鱼?

“Brett! What are you baking?

“Swim bladders.

“That's something, too.(那也是东西,)中国话:东西。”

“Right! It's called a thing, but it stinks. Move it. Move it.(对! 高晓飞把他的鞋子推开,指着旁边的背包说,“These can be called things, a lot of things can be called things.(这些都可以称为东西,很多的物品都可以称为东西。)”

“No, no, no.(不不不。)”高晓飞哭笑不得,连忙按下了他的手,用英文解释道,“You can listen to me. In Chinese, the word 'thing' not only means direction, but also refers to objects. For example, table, chair, TV set, glasses and other objects can be called 'thing'(你好好听着,在中国话中,‘东西’这个词,不仅仅只是表示方向,更多的时候指的是物品,例如桌子、椅子、电视机、眼镜等物品,都可以称为东西,但有生命的人和动物,就不能用‘东西’来表示了。)”

布莱特茫然,挨着脑袋喃喃地说道:“In Chinese, things are called things, but living animals can not be called things, such as insects, birds, beasts, people and so on.(中国话把物品称为东西,但是有生命的动物就不能称东西,例如虫、鸟、兽、人等等。)” 又指着自己说,“Man is not a thing, so,(人类是不能称为东西的。)”
